Since I started Wellesley & King four years ago, I've been amazed at the blogging community here in Pittsburgh. Not only are they all uniquely different, but they are so welcoming and supportive of one another. It's incredible to be part of such a positive community.
Unfortunately, working a 9-to-5 makes it difficult to attend as many events as I'd like, but I still try to take advantage of nearby opportunities when I can. After all, connecting on social media has its time and place but nothing compares to chatting with actual human beings, comparing experiences, and connecting in person.
When Morgan of the Mint Mo reached out with a blogger get-together, I wanted to embrace the opportunity to meet some new bloggers--many of which I follow on Instagram but never had the pleasure of meeting in person.
Walnut Capital graciously hosted us at their East Liberty location, Walnut on Highland. With a spread of sandwiches, cookies, fresh fruits and veggies, and of course a selection of wines, we were able to connect in the beautifully styled community space and rooftop patio. I was particularly in love with this gallery wall and the Pittsburgh skyline wallpaper. The eclectic collection of furniture was colorful, fun, and inviting, with a ton of space for hosting a large gathering.
The decor made me want to re-decorate our entire apartment. Those green armchairs were stunning, and the long rectangular dining table was perfect for any networking event or small dinner party. In this space, you really have everything you need to host a stellar event.
I always leave events like this feeling filled with joy and a sense of belonging amongst all of these lovely creatives. Pittsburgh really is an amazing city; I'm so glad to be part of it.
